Deadline Information on Registering To Vote

A new voter registration application form must be completed and either postmarked or hand delivered to your county supervisor of elections at least 29 days before you can vote in an election. If your application is complete, and you are qualified as a voter, a voter information card will be mailed to you.

Florida is a closed primary state. You can only vote for a candidate of your party affiliation in the primary elections. However, Article VI, Section 5(b), Florida Constitution, provides that if all candidates have the same party affiliation and the winner will have no opposition in the general election, all qualified voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote in the primary election for that office. This is known as a Universal Primary Contest.

You may vote for any candidate regardless of your party affiliation in the general election.

You may vote for nonpartisan candidates and issues in any election; regardless of party affiliation.

You may change your party affiliation at any time prior to the 29th day cut off period before an election.

You may change your address at any time. Please try to keep your residence and mailing addresses on our files current.

You must vote in the precinct you live in. Your address will reflect your precinct.

If you lose or deface your voter information card, you may apply for another.
